Where I’ve Been (and Where I’m Going…)
It's been a while since I posted, and today I have something deeply personal and meaningful to share with you. Grab your favorite drink, get cozy, and let’s talk about a significant change in this space, that if I’m being honest, has been a long time coming!
For those of you who have been here for a while, you know that my channel has mainly focused on sustainable sewing and building a handmade wardrobe. I’ve loved sharing that creative journey with you, and it’s been amazing to see how many of you have been inspired to create your own sustainable pieces.
And while this will always be a passion of mine, I’ve also been feeling this pull from inside myself to start moving away from sharing so heavily about this part of myself, and I have been for a while now- as documented in this video almost a year ago now.
A New Direction Ahead:
Despite my passion, I’ve been hesitant to fully expand for many reasons, the main one being a lack of focus. I knew sewing and creativity based content was something I wanted to move away from, but I had no idea what, instead, I wanted to be moving toward. Aimlessness is not a fun state of being to operate from in your day-to-day life, so I continued to put out the content I was familiar with since that was the only structure I had available to me, but behind the scenes I really struggled with creating a new foundation for myself. Thankfully, stars aligned and clarity did eventually come through. And now I am beyond proud and happy to announce that I have officially begun my journey as a Feminine Embodiment Practitioner, and I will be dedicating this space to sharing about Feminine Embodiment.
Now (if you’re still with me) you might be wondering, what exactly is a Feminine Embodiment practice, and why the change? My mission is to empower women to reconnect with their sacred selves through nurturing, soulful, and transformative practices. As a Feminine Embodiment Practitioner, I guide women on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and authentic expression, helping them embrace their divine feminine essence and live a life of balance, wholeness, and joy. My content will now explore themes like intuitive movement, emotional healing, spiritual practices, and cultivating a soul-led existence. Crafting will always be welcome here, now as one of the many ways to guide you in your unfolding within an embodiment practice.
How I Came to Feminine Embodiment:
The insight for my new direction came almost by accident. One day, I was right in the middle of a yoga flow I found on YouTube, and during the practice I felt completely present in my body, focused on my breath, and in tune with myself. The instructor mentioned something along the lines of “leaning into your own embodiment” and that word resonated deeply with me: Embodiment. This sacred presence I was experiencing in my body, without judgment or expectation, was embodiment, and I recognized it immediately as something I wanted to cultivate and guide other women to experience.
The second part of this transformation involved learning about masculine and feminine energies and how they shape our lives. When I first started digging into these modalities, I was almost shook by how deeply informed I already was when it came to the Masculine. I know the Masculine, heck- we all know the Masculine. It’s a very comfy place to operate from for many of us, because our society not only prioritizes, but celebrates and encourages masculine qualities—things like productivity, competitiveness, the need to control our surroundings, self-discipline, making decisions from a logical place and going for what looks best on paper.
Now, these qualities are not in and of themselves bad. However, when left unbalanced and unchecked, they often lead to burnout and self-destruction. I recognized, just as you may be recognizing for yourself right now, that I had let these qualities run my life right into the ground. I was craving balance, and I was both thrilled and delighted to find it in the Feminine.
The “Why” Behind It All:
Acting as the moon to the Masculine’s sun, the Feminine empowers us to harmonize our energies by tapping into qualities such as honoring our cyclical nature and working with our natural rhythms, collaboration and operating with a focus on reciprocity, making soul-based decisions from a deeply intuitive place even when they defy logic, expressing emotion, creating for the sake of expression and not exploitation for monetary gain, sensuality and embodiment (there’s that word again, right?). In learning about the Feminine, I learned that these were all characteristics that I longed to unearth within myself and fully bring to life.
It’s my belief that we as individuals and as a whole will be better served by allowing ourselves to begin celebrating, encouraging, and embodying more of these qualities represented by the Feminine in order to rebalance the scales and begin to heal much of the damage that’s been done in favoring the Masculine while neglecting and even vilifying the Feminine. While there is a lot of patriarchy and misogyny at play here, I think it is important to recognize that the Masculine and Feminine are energies and not genders. They exist within all of us, and while my work it focused on and geared toward women, Feminine Embodiment is a practice open to all people regardless of their gender expression. My hope is that the work that I do on this channel and in all other spaces I occupy finds those who need it and ultimate helps as many people as possible find new ways to create a life for themselves of balance, wholeness, and joy.
What Sparked The Change:
I mentioned at the top of this post that I had been operating from a place of aimlessness for several months with no clue how to forge a clear path forward for myself. The real catalyst for this change came from a profound personal loss. My uncle, a fellow artist and creative spirit, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. We all process grief in very different ways, and the only way I could manage to really sit down and deal with the depth of this loss was to just to get quiet and allow my emotions to surface and wash over me in their own time.
I have always struggled with feeling my feelings, often intellectualizing them instead of allowing them space to simply exist. So when I finally allowed myself this sacred space and time to pause and reflect, a tidal wave of unprocessed emotions came bubbling up to the surface. This was a shock, as I discovered emotions I thought I had dealt with still lingered. I took a step back, disconnected from the outside world, and surrendered to the need to retreat inward.
Thankfully, this shift came right around the time when I was just diving into the concept of feminine embodiment. Developing my own embodiment practice gave me the grace and courage to tap into the toolbox of resources and practices I’ve been both collecting and perfecting over the past seven years. This holistic and heart-centered approach allowed me to address my emotions in a safe and loving way, moving them throughout my body. This practice not only helped heal me but also informed my approach to Feminine Embodiment.
Where This Journey Is Leading Me:
Moving forward, my personal brand of Feminine Embodiment will be presented through intuitive movement, emotional healing, spiritual practices, and more. My content will guide you on your journey back to the feminine, helping you live a fuller, richer, more authentic and deeply intuitive life.
